Police: suspects drive car into Covington business, steal guns Submitted by 11Alive News Staff Monday, February 29th, 2016, 7:26pm COVINGTON, Ga. — Four suspects are on the run Monday after they broke into a Covington business and stole several weapons. The incident happened just after 3 a.m. Monday morning at the Shots Fired gun store located on Washington Street. Investigators are asking the public to be on the lookout for the four suspects and three vehicles that may have been involved in the incident. Police say the first male was armed with a black hand gun wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and an orange glove. Another male was wearing a grey hoodie, tan pants and brown shoes. The third male was wearing a blue hoodie, jeans, and red or purple shoes with white shoe strings. The forth male was wearing a black coat, black pants, camouflage hoodie, and red and black shoes. Officials with the school released a statement Wednesday afternoon shedding light on the tragic incident that apparently occurred on the playground of Newton County Theme School. "We are struggling to comprehend the heartbreaking accident that occurred Monday afternoon and are grieving the loss of such a beautiful little girl," the statement read. Five-year-old Andrea Tyrah DeBruhl died after she was climbing on a piece of playground equipment and "experienced an emergency," according to Covington police. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner’s Office discovered that the child died of accidental asphyxia after getting caught on the playground equipment. Click here for more. NEWTON COUNTY, Ga.Plenty of questions remain after a 61-year-old woman was found at a hospital after being reported missing from a grocery store parking lot Monday afternoon. According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Brenda Thompson had last seen in her vehicle at the Kroger located on Highway 20 in Covington, Ga. Her husband said he went into the store to purchase medications from the pharmacy. When he came out, both Thompson and the vehicle were gone. A Mattie’s Call was issued on Monday after Brenda Thompson and her vehicle went missing from a Kroger parking lot. Her husband told police that Thompson has dementia and could not drive the car. The vehicle was later involved in a crash, and Thompson was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
